I've tried MANY products to find ones that I feel good about using. All of the ones I share here are tried and true by me personally over a long period of time. Whenever we purchase anything, we are voting with our dollars. I like to research and choose consciously to support the companies I believe in and to encourage more companies to do better for us and the earth.
These are the attributes I look for:
Cruelty-free and not tested on animals
Good for me and good for the environment (no harmful ingredients, less plastic in the packaging)
From a local company that is environmentally friendly and treats employees well (my links go to the company website directly whenever possible)
Effective and does what it's supposed to do

This is the best natural deodorant that I've tried, and it doesn't have the bad stuff in it (such as antiperspirrant and aluminum).
I've been using it for a few years now, and I love it! It's made by Booda Organics in Bellingham, WA, with natural ingredients, and the cost is reasonable.
Essence Cosmetics mascara is super affordable and works great! It's cruelty-free which is very important for makeup. If you aren't aware of what this means, please find out by googling how rabbits are used for testing cosmetics.
I have used several of their mascaras and like them all. My fave right now is this Sculpted Volume one.
